You don't see many cheeses coming out of portugal, but the ones you do will amaze you! Bica is a farmhouse fromage made from a blend of cows, sheep and goat milk. It has a distinctive flavor, yet is milder than you would expect from a typical goat cheese. I loved the buttery flavor and smooth sliky texture. Since the animals graze along the sea side a slight saltiness is evident. A versatile cheese, good for melting, nibbling on with a medium bodied red wine or for dessert with a glass of sherry. $22.99 per lb.,worth every ounce! |
